Strambler, Morton garner all-state honors

The honors continued to come in for Centennial’s Payton Strambler and Gracie Morton.

Strambler’s play during his senior season earned him a first-team spot at catcher on the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 5A All-State team. Strambler and Mansfield Legacy sophomore Nate Rombach were first-team selections.

Strambler was the Most Valuable Player on the District 9-5A All-District team. The senior played catcher and was a starting pitcher for the Spartans.

Morton’s All-State honors came from the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 5A team.

The junior was the District 9-5A Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
