The Crowley Lady Eagles recovered from one scoring drought Tuesday night at Everman, but they couldn't overcome a second dry spell in dropping a 26-23 decision to the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Eagles, playing without their leading scorer Neshia Moore, jumped out to the quick 4-0 lead, but went nearly three minutes without scoring again, and by that time the Lady Bulldogs built a 10-point lead at 14-4.
The Lady Eagles, however, scored five straight to end the quarter and cut the deficit to five, before tying the score at 14-14 at the half.
Crowley held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless for the nearly the entire third quarter — their one point came on a foul shot with 41.8 left in the quarter — and took a 19-15 led into the final quarter. In Crowley's 10-point quarter, Kennedy Williamson and No. 15 added 3-pointers.
The Lady Eagles went close to four minutes without scoring in the final quarter, allowing the Lady Bulldogs to turn a four-point deficit into a five-point led with five minutes left in the game.
Be'Andra Porter scored back-to-back buckets to break the Crowley's scoring drought and cut the lead to one with 3:48 left, but they wouldn't score  again.
Trailing by three, the Lady Eagles fired up a potential game-tying three, but couldn't connect.
Porter, Mishayla and Bailey Broadnax had four points each to lead the Eagles.
