 Crowley -- Barbara A. “Dot” Smith, 77, a retired cashier/bookkeeper at Williamson-Dickies Manufacturing in Fort Worth, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010, at a local hospital.

 Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at the Baumgardner Funeral Chapel, 212 N. Tarrant Street in Crowley. Interment followed in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

 Barbara was born September 14, 1932 to Herbert H. and Edna Mae Underhill in Penelope.

 Mother was known for her loving and caring spirit that made a difference in so many lives. She was a prayer warrior, a defender of what is right and generous in so many ways. Naturally, children loved her and she adored them. She enjoyed oil painting, having friends over to play cards and dominoes. Mother loved having friends and family gatherings and preparing meals for all who came. She loved to laugh and had a beautiful smile. We miss her already.

 Survivors include daughter, Marilyn Kay Spurlock and husband, Billy, of Crowley; step-granddaughter, Crystal Brittain of Huntsville; brother, Kyle Underhill and wife, Elizabeth, of Crowley; sister, Thalia Kilgo and husband, Carter and several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
