Fort Worth -- Alan Bankston Moody, Sr., 55, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and son, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009.

 Funeral services were 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009, in the Greenwood Chapel, and a reception followed. Interment was in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

 Alan was born in Quitman, Miss. in 1954 and moved to Orange, where he met Renee Moody. The two were married in Vidor on August 4, 1979. Alan and Renee made their home in Fort Worth in 1985. He led Boy Scout Troop 554 of Crowley for many years, working with his sons and other young men toward obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

 He was employed at Lockheed Martin, where he had worked since 1985. Although he had obtained the golden age of retirement, 55, this year, he elected to continue working to support his daughter through her college years.

 Alan recently joined the Panther City Masonic Lodge in Fort Worth and was working to receive his master Mason degree. His loving smile and joyful spirit will be a cherished memory for his family for years to come.

 The family would like to thank Dr. Alford, our fellow church families and the many friends for all of their support throughout not only his life but also during this time of grief.

 Alan was preceded in death by his father, Forrest Bankston Moody, Jr.

 Survivors include his wife, Renee Moody; sons, Alan, Jr. and Joshua Moody and wife, Kasha Moody; daughter, Marilyn Moody; granddaughter, Shaelyn Moody; mother, Frances Moody; brothers, Robert Moody, Kenneth Moody and John Moody; sisters-in-law, Michelle Moody, Rhonda Moody and Shelley Moody; Uncle Lynwood and Aunt Gayle Moody and many nieces and nephews.
