Not your kid's cartoon movie (Posted 9/16/2009 02:37 pm)
Don’t be fooled by the cute little rag-doll men, the new animated film 9 has a target audience much older than that of the Toy Story franchise.

While the films characters could be described as “cute” the material for the film is anything but cuddly.

When a rag-doll known only as 9 (Elijah Wood) first comes to life, he finds himself in a post-apocalyptic world where all humans are gone, and the world is in ruins.

He quickly discovers a small group of other rag dolls — some taking refuge from fearsome machines and others fighting them.

The group have become content on hiding from the mechanical monsters, but after awakening a machine which was responsible for the destruction of humanity, the dolls must find a way to fight the machine and try to save the world.

The film may sound fairly straight-forward, but there are plot twists and mysteries aplenty to keep the audience wondering what is happening throughout the movie.
